For those not already in the know, Boobs and Brass is a ladies band which raises funds for the Breast Cancer Campaign. But recently the usual all-female line-up incorporated Friary stalwart Ian Stewart to support the first trombone player who had undergone major emergency dental surgery a few days earlier.
‘I don’t think I’ve ever played in a band quite like this, let alone in a bright pink jacket!’ joked Ian. ‘But it was great fun, and the concert raised around £1,200 for a very worthy cause, too, so it was time very well spent.’
